Andrea Manning

My story

I chose physics because it is challenging and interesting, and it sparked my curiosity. I’m most interested in concepts of time and thermodynamics right now! I have also been doing some robophysics and have enjoyed it! After undergrad, I want to get a Ph.D.

I’ve been working in a robophysics lab studying the motility of algae. We create cool robots that replicate the movement and conditions of biological algae and study the results.

Receiving this award was extremely exciting and validating. It is helping me pay for school and helped renew my sense of belonging in this field.
