Ciera Canady

Growing up, I always had a strong passion for the Science, Technology Engineering & Mathematic (STEM) Field. Unlike others, I thought of all STEM classes as life lessons. Math classes were amazing to me because it taught me how one answer led to another answer, yet there were so many possible ways to achieve that one answer! Engineering classes taught me patience.

I believe with physics & astronomy the future is in our hands. I plan to continue my education after undergrad to earn a Ph.D. in physics. Even though astronomy is my main area of interest, I’m excited to learn more about other branches of physics.

In my program, I have recently traveled across the country to do summer research at the University of San Diego, studying plasma physics. Currently, during the school year, I do lab work in engineering physics where I help lead & carry out my own projects!
