'Life doesn't frighten me' - Jean-Michel Basquiat
At a young age, I discovered an occupation that combined both of my top subjects at the time, math, and art. Since then, I’ve always believed that architecture would be a fitting career for myself. However, in beginning my studies, my institution had to put an emphasis on physics courses due to the lack of accessibility of some courses, thus making me a dual degree engineer with a concentration in physics.
I am most passionate about material science, specifically synthesizing TMD materials, within physics. My initial goal was to pursue only architecture, however, since I was properly introduced to physics, I want to continue to be able to practice both fields separately to be able to continue to learn as much as I can, about both fields.
I recently just received a second place award for my presentation on the “Precursor Chemistry Effect On the Synthesis of WSe^2,” at the CAU Center for Undergrad Research and Creativity Symposium this past spring semester. Currently, I am beginning to conduct new research within material science, which will focus on the growth of heterostructures on various substrates utilizing the chemical vapor deposition method.
