'No matter how hard it is, or how hard it gets, I’m going to make it'. – Les Brown
My journey as a physics major has been significantly influenced by my mom, a high school physics teacher, who instilled in me the belief that women can excel in traditionally male-dominated fields. This upbringing ignited my passion for scientific exploration and discovery.
I am passionate about how physics concepts can be harnessed to improve medical technology and make a positive impact on patient care and I hope to pursue a Ph.D. in Medical Physics.
In summer 2024, I had an incredible opportunity to be awarded the Purdy Fellowship which allowed me to intern in medical physics at Washington University in St. Louis. During this time, I collaborated with Dr. Taeho Kim on a project focused on integration of Diffusion Tensor Imaging into intracranial treatments for Stereotactic RadioSurgery. Building on this experience, I’m excited to share that this fall, I’ve been awarded the Wielenga Honors College Research Award at Michigan State University which will support my upcoming research journey with Dr. Adam Alessio in the field of medical imaging research.
