TU-T leaders are seeking input on a new program that will provide funding for physics and astronomy departments to prioritize and support successful outcomes for African American undergraduates.

TEAM-UP Together (TU-T) invites faculty, students, department heads, administrators, and other stakeholders to participate in a round of virtual listening sessions in May and June. The sessions aim to gather feedback about how TU-T can best implement its departmental program.

This is an opportunity for the community to help shape this multi-million-dollar program, which will provide resources and support to Black students and physics and astronomy departments for efforts that prioritize the success of Black students in these fields.

As part of an effort to double the number of African Americans earning bachelor’s degrees in physics and astronomy by 2030, TU-T currently provides direct funding and support to Black undergraduate students majoring in those fields. In its next stage, the program will assist physics and astronomy higher education departments in efforts that align with the TU-T mission.
