My story

Growing up with ADHD made it very hard for me to pay attention to most subjects, because I felt they were trivial and uninteresting. Once I took my first physics class, I found myself enveloped in the subject and I knew that’s what I wanted to do. Quantum mechanics is the most interesting subject to me because of how complex and varied the subject is. I plan on pursuing a career where I can use computers to solve some of the world’s problems or help in creating cutting-edge technology to positively change everyone’s life.

I have kept a 3.0 GPA while juggling school, work, and a family. I’m proud of my work ethic and that is my biggest accomplishment. This scholarship will allow me to put school first for the first time in my academic career. I’ve always had to put my livelihood first and that made it difficult to focus on exams and assignments when life was going on around me. This scholarship will allow me to put my 100% all into my studies.
