Njema Frazier
Njema Frazier is a member of the US Senior Executive Service (SES) who currently serves as the Director of Strategic Partnerships and Engagement for the National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) in Washington, DC. Within the Office of the Undersecretary for Nuclear Security, Department of Energy, Frazier’s program oversees the myriad industry, academic, and interagency partnerships and engagements that utilize NNSA resources to promote scientific and economic growth across the nation. Prior to her current assignment, Frazier led a $1.3B R&D program to direct, plan, coordinate, and execute weapons science experiments. A long-time trailblazer in science, Frazier was the first Black woman to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physics from Carnegie Mellon University, as well as the first to receive a Ph.D. in theoretical nuclear physics from Michigan State University.
